Posted By: | PTR | The usual yearly event for the Royal Cotswolds, the tranquility of old England the villiage fete, the tea and cakes from the WI,Hot dogs,and beef burgers home made by the local butcher.Those that have been before know how this is an unmissable event.The Flower Show is from 12-1600 (any longer and the locals get to excited!)we will meet at the Holford Arms at 10,30 for a 11.00 away, that gives us time to get there and set up.
This year (weather permitting) we hope to have an over night at the Holford Arms on the Saturday night. A few drinks with old friends, a meal a few more drinks, possibly a bit of Country and western-more-details to follow. |

Posted By: | Heater | You are cordially invited to our ride around scotland , we plan to leave on 13th August and return back to the northwest of England by tuesday,We plan to head towards carlisle and swing west towards stranraer , then north and on towards loch lomond from there through to Glen Coe , ballachulish and fort william , then heading north and east to Inverness and Elgin , we will double back and travel south through the drumlochter pass towards Sterling, from there its Edinburgh and down the A68 back into England a stop of at Holy Island and back again to the A68 through northumberland and into yorks Heading South and west back to our starting point .or possibly anti clockwise. The mileage is around 1100 . We havent as of yet defined stops overnight or otherwise . We are not planning on camping as a priority , we will however look for, wherever possible places that do B&B as well as camping (so suggestions are welcome ) . |

Posted By: | Crispy | something a bit different,1940s hanger dance featuring john miller( glen millers nephew)and his orchestra doing glen miller numbers from the 1940s,a chance to dress up in 1940s costume if you want to (most do but some dont) fully licensed bar and a hog roast(£5 extra for food)tara normally supplies our table with a buffet. gates open at 6.30 show starts at 8 untill 12.00.
there is camping available on site but you will have to be packed up by 9.30 sunday morning or the holiday inn next door do a room and ticket deal for £109 for 2 people. the ticket prices are £30 per head in advance with a discount for tables of 12.we ve been a number of times and its a good night, proceeds from the food takings are donated to demelza house.

Posted By: | Yogi | This annual event attracts several thousand bikers and will run from the Ford Research Centre at Dunton (near Basildon, Essex) up to Harwich. It's a good day out with plenty of amusements and refresments. Hopefully I will hold the usual BBQ at home for anybody wishing to come along afterwards. All details will be posted later. |

Posted By: | Paddi | A picturesque riverside pub in rural East Yorkshire, 15 miles from York, 10 mins off the M62. YO8 8DH.
When we did this in April it was a good weekend, made more special by the fact that John, the landlord was such an amiable chap! Once again we have free camping and a damn good brekkie for only four quid. Good showers and toilet facilities. Bar meals or the local takeaways which deliver to the campsite.
I have booked a DJ for the Friday and Saturday night, may be able to do something extra as well yet.
The Saturday ride-out will be an Eastcoastfest, route to be planned yet though.
Its also the weekend before me and Jan tie the knot so it might be my last camping trip (In September).
Arrival, any time Friday. Depart after breakfast on Sunday.
It would be nice to see some of our members from other areas at this one. You're all welcome. See you all soon. |
